Monday, May 12th, 2014, 7am @ Riverfront Park
Did somebody say free pancakes and coffee? Thanks to our generous sponsors, Mountain Gear and Roast House Coffee, we did! Please join us for a fun Bike to Work Week kick-off — you might even find a riding buddy for the week.
Bike to Work Week 2014 tees will be for sale at the breakfast — we accept cash, check and plastic.
May 12th – 16th
Compete with other riders or groups of riders to log the most miles ridden as a substitute for driving. (That can mean riding to work, school, to pick up kids, to the grocery store — pretty much anything other than purely recreational riding.)
COMMUTE OF THE CENTURY
MAY 12TH – 16TH
Join this roaming tour of Spokane’s bicycle infrastructure. Spokane City is hosting a supported series of “extended lunch hour” rides covering most of the existing bike lanes and paths in Spokane. Ride your preferred route and provide feedback on the next steps to develop the bike network. Ride all six routes and show your ultimate stamina as a 100-mile commuter! Registration available at the Kick-Off Breakfast.
Wednesday, May 14th
As part of Spokane Bikes, many local folks are sponsoring Energizer Stations, providing snacks, coffee and other goodies to bicycle commuters. Stop by one or more of the locations for your goodies.
Ride of Silence
Wednesday, May 14th, 6:00 pm
On May 15th, the Ride of Silence will begin in North America and roll across the globe. Cyclists will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways. Meet at 6:00 at Riverfront Park between the fountain and the runner statues (Spokane Falls Blvd and Wall St). A short dedication will precede the ride. Wear helmets.
Friday, May 16th @ River City Brewery
We’ll wrap up the week in style with beer, snacks and sponsor prizes — and announce leaders for the commute challenge. Be there to win door prizes and celebrate your hard work!
